Thirty years of this work, on both sides of the table.
I've run learning and development from inside Fortune 50 companies, and I've built it from the outside for organizations that don't have the function yet. The first is why I know what good looks like. The second is why I know how to build it with the resources you actually have.
Inside the function
Where I've led learning & development.
MetLife
Global talent strategy across 16 countries in 8 languages. A $24 million budget supporting more than 30,000 employees, plus a government incentives program that secured $5 million in training grants.
H&R Block
Led one of the largest corporate universities in the United States — a $54 million annual budget delivering over six million hours of training, and a learning platform rolled out to 120,000 tax professionals.
Vonage
Built the company's first leadership development and talent management strategy, linking training directly to business performance.
The Results Company
Scaled headcount by 500 for a new center launch and led the talent and performance strategy behind it.
Citibank
Managed a 3,000-seat call center and led regional branches across the Northeast. President's Club five consecutive years.

Longest-running engagement
Helge Capital · four years and counting
What began as leadership training has become the full learning function: annual needs assessment, a multi-level training plan, culture and principles work, town hall facilitation, one-to-one coaching across the leadership team, and a thirteen-module operational excellence program currently in delivery.
This is what a fractional Chief Learning Officer engagement looks like in practice — not a course bought once, but the function running continuously.
In their words
What clients and colleagues say.
“Carolyn is an inspirational leader, trainer, mentor and coach. I had the privilege of working with Carolyn at two Fortune 50 companies where she demonstrated excellent presentation and training skills at all levels. She connects with people in the room by sharing her personal experiences and weaves humor and learning together through a dynamic conversation.”
“Carolyn is an accomplished executive, both in what she brings to business in determination and enthusiasm, as well as her ability to collaborate with a wide range of diverse business leaders. She has deep experience in developing and implementing innovative corporate training programs.”
“I have attended many leadership workshops in the past, and none even come close to the sessions I attended with Carolyn. Her ability to connect with the audience, draw real-life connections from her own experiences, and adjust the content on the fly is unmatched — even on topics as dry as time management.”
“Whether it is 20 tax professionals in a small setting or 3,000 franchisees at a national convention, Carolyn is able to tailor her message in a way that is compelling, engaging and fun.”
“Carolyn was a keynote speaker at our SHRM MO Conference and conducted a pre-conference workshop. She captured the attention of her audience right from the start and tailored her material to meet our specific needs.”
“Carolyn's candid style and humor won over the packed house of Human Resources professionals the moment she began speaking. If you get a chance to bring her into your organization or conference, do it before someone else books her.”
Could your managers use this?
Most of these engagements started with a single conversation about what wasn't working. Happy to have that one with you.
